You are the hardest working political caregiver I have come across. I only wish there were many more like you. Thanks for all you do for our country and keep telling like it is.

As someone who knows Katie, she is absolutely the hardest working person I know.

Of course Katie Porter is coming to Substack! So happy to have you here and look forward to your wisdom beyond the Whiteboard!

I volunteered in your 2018 campaign, am a founding (very small) donor, and I know you have a tough race, but, I badly want Orange County representation in the U.S. Senate. Your qualifications and political philosophy are exactly what Orange County and the U.S. Senate need!

Hi Pam! Wonder if we volunteered together in 2018?! I was sort of everywhere and doing everything.

I've seen this Substack before. Adam Kinzinger has one going. I am on it. I don't have a lot to give but donate when I can, as I do to you. Wish it was more. He has several movements going to try to keep MAGA away from DC>

I was appalled but not surprised at the selection for Speaker. I'm in Nevada but admire you and support you. I really want you to win so badly.

Yay! So glad to see you here on Substack! I'm one of your (92694) constituents, and a proud grassroots supporter of your Senate campaign. Thank you so much for all you do for us, and for the whole country. You rock!! - from one Katie to another :)

I’ll pull out my whiteboard and show you exactly why Israel should NOT receive any more US tax dollars to massacre Palestinians

For us illiterates, could you please spell out what "TLDR" means?

Separately, the Johnson election has me truly depressed. The man's comments - like the one about how our workforce shortage is because there are too many abortions - are just sick. I could use an intellectual white board session right now. Thanks for the fight Katie!

TL;DR is an internet abbreviation for "Too Long; Didn't Read". It usually is used to mean, "quick summary is that...".

You should be calling for a ceasefire in Gaza if you have anything resembling a moral backbone in your body

Guy writing anonymously accuses someone else of not having a backbone. That's hysterical.

Bot who likes the taste of Katie Porter’s boots. Fuck off

Expand full comment

Sorry, not a bot, real flesh and blood over here. Bots do things like ad hominem and insults. Hmm, who does that remind me of?

It’s okay, little bot. Whatever makes you feel better about your pitiful existence

So, bots do things like repeat the same text over and over, without actually responding to the real person in the dialog. So I think we all know who the bot is here, and it isn't me. And even if you aren't a bot, why do you think I would care about your random, not very clever at all insults? My self-image doesn't depend on some troll on the internet, you need to get over yourself.

You should ask yourself why you’re still replying to my comments fuckhead

I’m very calm. You’re the one who has problems with evidence. Guardian analysis isn’t nearly as in depth as the NYT on this one, but whatever floats your boat.

Katie Porter is a good person and a good Representative for the people. Go find someone who is not either of those things to hassle, please.

I’m asking her to call for a ceasefire and stick by her supposedly progressive bona fides

You have spoken very disrespectfully to the other person who objected to you trying to pick a fight with her. If you really are concern about getting a cease fire in Gaza, call out the people who are most directly and loudly supporting Israel’s current course of action. If you want to attack Katie Porter, question her for the issues for which she is well known. This sort of fly-by swipe at her just makes you look not serious, you know? Go back and read more old letters. These posters are thoughtful people trying to clarify how to talk about difficult issues. We can have arguments sometimes and get hot about topics, but the point is sustained discussion with some sense of resolution, not just every progressive is a liar or every conservative is a liar. We at least need a concrete example or two. Katie Porter is a person about whom it is rather difficult to offering supporting dissing examples. Pick some who is an easier target, or a topic that is not so complicated and horrifyingly simple at the same time. Clearly Hamas needs to stop killing Israelis and the Israeli government needs to stop killing Palestinians. It’s a f****** nightmare. Carry on.

I would like to have your insights into the starvation of libraries and humanities programs over the years. I am more than suspicious that that is how we got to where awe are.

Mike Johnson is from my State. He is level headed and truthful, unlike the democrat posers who constantly lie to America through a fully brainwashed media. Kevin McCarthy was owned by Democrats. Mike Johnson will do well to correct what damage the democrats have done to our nation. You are trying to impose communism. America is not a communist country.

This morning I heard Mr. Johnson (this was via public radio) say he believes God put him and all of his colleagues in their position of power. By democracy's last count—and the last time I checked—it's voters who put people into power. I'm sure his reply to that would be that the voters are merely carrying out God's true will. It's an incredibly efficient circular argument.
