I am very disappointed that you will not be on the ballot in November but I really appreciate that you are still working for us. I am a tax professional and many of my clients who are not low income struggle to pay for child care. Here in the SF Bay Area, both spouses have to work to keep up with the cost of living and the cost of childcare often takes a huge bite out of their combined income.
Congress won't take child care seriously until more members are younger women and men who experienced having to raise children themselves. If US Congress won't wake up to today's problems, then put a bullseye on the ones who need to be kicked out of office. Say no to re-election of those who voted no on child care bills.
Childcare should be our #1 priority, is there anything more important than our children? There's a few different scenarios though; single parents, married parents where both want to be out in the workforce, married parents where both are forced to be out in the workforce... along with does the child even have a home? It's way beyond just an economic issue.
Why can't we be moving people out of the workforce and start focusing on people, community and society instead of industry, money and things? β
This is a huge issue for women, thank you for pushing for child care (and everything else you fight for) Recently, Iβve been hearing from young working women and MANY are not planning to have children at all. They donβt want to have to do it all, and other reasons as well. And Iβm always wondering why the defense budget gets more than half of all gov money ......and I hear so little about that. You are one of the few to mention that.
I really, REALLY appreciate your attention to this huge problem and parents who have this to agonize over. You work so hard and are able to focus so strongly -- you make a real impact. Thank you for what you have done in a few short years and I hope your name is familiar in years to come.
I am not a CA resident, (CO) but you would definitely have my support on a national ticket! We need more level headed legislators to hold congress accountable...Unlike Marjorie Taylor Green (Q-GA)
Thank you Ms Porter!!! Very few Congress people know how to do anything but create expenses. I love that you were trying to create investments. #EarnedHigherEducationScholarship
Would be an investment and stop the predatory student loan nonsense. I donβt know what weβre gonna do with this 1.7 trillion in student loan debt other than rewrite the income tax codes for corporations. 40% flat rate no loopholes capital gains as income. That would be covered in a single quarter. We can pay off the debt and 30/4 the national debt that is
THANK YOU for continuing to work for us regular folks. Please continue to TRY to make progress. Your efforts are appreciated and needed.

Any while the reduce or eliminate child care funding, the mandate more children be born. Will the hypocrisy never end.
